    (ANI)

Lahore, May 9 : Pakistani beauty queen and fashion model, Maria Mateen, who represented her country twice in international beauty pageants, denied press reports claiming that she had a desire to go on a date with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

She, however, admitted that she and the former Army Chief were "old friends".

In an email interview from Texas, Maria said that when she started her career in modeling, her association with Pakistan was appreciated everywhere, and that she earned Pakistan a good name after representing it twice in international beauty pageants, reported the Daily Times.

Refuting press reports suggesting that she had expressed her wish to go on a date with Musharraf, she said she and Musharraf "are already good friends".
