    India Gazette
    Saturday 20th March, 2010
    (IANS)

A day after a 23-year-old woman jumped to death from the fourth floor of her southeast Delhi residence, her parents Saturday alleged that their daughter was harassed for dowry.

The woman, identified as Sushma, was a resident of Mohan Nagar in Badarpur.

'She had jumped off the fourth floor of her house. Her parents today (Saturday) testified before the sub divisional magistrate that their daughter was being harrased for dowry. They alleged that it is a dowry murder,' a police officer told IANS.

Sushma's husband Krishna Mohan and his family were arrested and a dowry case was registered.

'We have learnt that Sushma was undergoing treatment for some psychiatric illness before her marriage. Further investigations are on,' the official added.
