Subhash Ghai to change actors' pay structure
    India Gazette
    Saturday 13th March, 2010
    (IANS)

Showman Subhash Ghai is planning a radical change in the economics of filmmaking by drafting a new pay structure for actors starring in his films.

Having burnt his fingers repeatedly coping up with the actors' enormous pay packets, Ghai now plans to pay his stars in instalments.

'Now, I've to plan my films differently. Actors will be paid phase-wise, in instalments after shooting, dubbing, publicity, etc. I don't want to go through any kind of harassment again. I suggest every actor should try producing a film at least once. In fact, many stars have tried it and burnt their fingers,' Ghai said.

And yes, Ghai won't produce or finance films for other directors anymore. He is now working on his next directorial venture.

'I'm currently scripting it. All I can tell you at the moment is that it would be an entertaining film,' he said.
