    India Gazette
    Saturday 26th December, 2009
    (IANS)

Himachal Pradesh Police have deployed quick reaction teams across the state to tackle terror attacks, a senior official said here Saturday.

'We have deployed quick reaction teams in all the 12 districts to tackle terror-like attacks. Special action groups have also been constituted at Shimla and Dharamsala,' Additional Director General of Police (Armed Police and Training) B. Kamal Kumar told reporters here.

'The process to modernise the force is also on. The police personnel would be provided latest weapons like automatic and semi-automatic rifles. They will also get bulletproof jackets and night vision devices,' he said.

Kumar said that after the terror attacks on Mumbai last year, the state police had imparted special anti-insurgency and terrorist training to its personnel.

'We have sent 97 personnel to Bahadurgarh (in Punjab) for a commando course,' he added.
