Flash floods hit Mukim Sengkurong

A heavy downpour Tuesday night at several areas in the Sultanate left a number of houses and shops flooded and rendered roads almost too hazardous to use.

Mukim Sengkurong in the Brunei-Muara District was among the worst hit, with floodwater levels reaching up to three feet in some areas.

Several houses, shop buildings and the main road were submerged under water in Mukim Sengkurong.

Kampong Mulaut, Kampong Pasai, Kampong Sungai Lampai, Jalan Ban 3 and Kampong Selayun resembled water village after heavy rain caused flash floods.

One resident at Ban 3 said the flash floods caused the main road at Jalan Ban 3 to be hazardous to road users especially at night.
