Arbab for joint resolution with opposition against
Kalabagh Dam
KARACHI:
Chief Minister of Sindh Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said Sindh has reservations
over construction of Kalabagh Dam, while Punjab wants construction
of the dam to get royalty.
Speaking in Sindh Assembly session over Kalabagh Dam
issue Thursday said if needed a joint resolution with the opposition
will be introduced.
Chief Minister said that President Musharraf was briefed
about reservations and fears of peoples and political parties of the
province about the dam.
Arbab Rahim said a year’s water can be reserved
in Skardu dam and if needed that reservoir can be used.
Chief Minister of Sindh said Punjab wants Kalabagh
Dam for the sake of royalty it will receive from the dam. The past
governments of Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Peoples Party made no
feasibility reports of other dams, he further said.
