Hoops: Kobe Scores 45, Lakers Win Again

Lakers 96, Pacers 90
LOS ANGELES -- Kobe Bryant poured in 45 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers, 96-90, at the Staples Center. Bryant scored 45 or more points for the fourth consecutive game, a feat that had not been accomplished since Wilt Chamberlain from November 15-22, 1964. Lamar Odom notched a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Lakers, who won their third straight contest. Jermaine O'Neal also recorded a double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds and Anthony Johnson added 14 points for Indiana, which had its two-game winning streak snapped.

76ers 107, SuperSonics 98
PHILADELPHIA -- Allen Iverson went over the 40-point mark for the eighth time this season with 41, leading Philadelphia to a 107-98 win over Seattle at the Wachovia Center. Iverson also had nine assists and seven rebounds, while John Salmons added 18 points for the Sixers, who ended a two- game losing streak. Kyle Korver netted 17 points and Andre Iguodala had 16, as the Sixers played without star forward Chris Webber, who was sidelined with a back strain. Webber is averaging 19.4 points and 10.3 rebounds in 32 games this season. Ray Allen led the Sonics with 27 points. Vladimir Radmanovic notched 15 points and 12 rebounds for Seattle, which has lost three in a row. Rashard Lewis finished with 14 points in the setback.

Jazz 97, Wizards 89
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Mehmet Okur scored 19 points and gathered 13 rebounds as the Utah Jazz held on to beat the Washington Wizards, 97-89, at the MCI Center. Andrei Kirilenko added 17 points, seven boards, four assists and four steals for Utah, which has won seven of its last eight contests. Matt Harpring contributed 12 points and Deron Williams had 10 off the bench in the win. Antawn Jamison poured in a game-high 30 points to lead a second-half rally for the Wizards, who were unable to overcome a 14-point halftime deficit and have now lost five of their last six. Caron Butler netted 16 points for Washington, while Antonio Daniels finished with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting.

Mavericks 104, Bruins 102
BOSTON -- Jerry Stackhouse drained a baseline jumper with one-tenth of a second remaining, as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Boston Celtics, 104-102, at TD Banknorth Garden. Stackhouse scored 20 points off the bench and Jason Terry paced the Mavericks with 30 points, while Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 and grabbed seven rebounds. Keith Van Horn scored 12 points off the bench, as Dallas won its third straight game and its fifth in a row over Boston. Paul Pierce led all scorers with 32 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Ricky Davis added 17 points and eight assists for Boston, which lost its third straight contest. Mark Blount and Tony Allen each scored 12 points off the bench in the loss.

Bulls 113, Raptors 104
CHICAGO -- Kirk Hinrich tallied 25 points, dished out 11 assists and grabbed five rebounds, as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Toronto Raptors, 113-104, at the United Center. Luol Deng added 21 points and five boards, while Ben Gordon scored 12 of his 19 points in the final period, as Chicago won its third straight game overall and its 11th in a row versus the Raptors. Andres Nocioni contributed 18 points and nine boards and Mike Sweetney had 14 points and nine rebounds in the victory. Toronto was led by Chris Bosh's 26-point, five-rebound, five-assist performance, while Jalen Rose tallied 24 points in the Raptors' second consecutive setback. Morris Peterson added 22 points and Mike James notched a double-double with 14 points and 13 assists in the loss.
