    Royal Challengers, Knight Riders fined for slow over rates

    The Indian Premier League (IPL) Friday penalised the Bangalore Royal Challengers and Kolkata Knight Riders for not completing their overs in the stipulated time in the rain-curtailed match at the Eden Gardens Thursday.

    Match referee Farokh Engineer fined Royal Challengers $1000 for falling short by two overs while Knight Riders were fined $500 for one over short.

    Knight Riders won the match by five runs and for the Challengers it was their fifth defeat.
