    Ex-Nepal PM lapses into coma, condition critical

    Formal Nepal Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala's health condition worsened on Saturday morning, and he was in coma.

    According to Kantipur, doctors have put him on artificial respiration.

    According to Dr. Arjun Karki, who is involved in Koirala's treament, the leader is in critical condition after he fell unconscious this morning.

    " Antibiotics are being administered to control the infection in his lungs," he added.

    Koirala's family sources say, he is unconscious at the moment. Special arrangements have been made at his daughter Sujata's residence in Mandikatar for his treatment.

    UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who went to see him, said that Koirala was not responding to his visitors.

    Maoist Vice Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said, "We need him for the peace process."eanwhile, the Nepali Congress has called an emergency meeting of its Central Working Committee at 1 p.m. today.

    The meeting will be held at Sujata Koirala's residence in Mandikhatar.

    All CWC members have been summoned to the capital to take part in the meeting.

    Koirala is the key player in bringing the Maoists to mainstream politics. (ANI)
